Allie’s a brilliant writer with a biting wit and sharp sense of humor, knows a ton about having fun while living on the cheap, and loves exploring places most people wouldn’t normally go.
Matthew Hokanson
Matthew ‘Hokie’ Hokanson is a computer programmer, web developer and fermentor currently located in Concord, CA. He writes for and operates Incessant Rambling and thehokie.com. When he’s not wrangling lines of code or pickling various vegetables, he enjoys boiling water, barley mash and hops, letting them cool, adding yeast and waiting several weeks before drinking the concoction better known as beer. He’s very excited to be contributing this blog, and looks forward to providing its readers with tales of journeys and thoughts on beer. He kindly asks that you be sure to have fun.
Guest Bloggers
Josh Christie
Josh Christie, of the Brews and Books blog was the first Guest blogger on Part Time Vagabond. Josh is a bookseller and beer afficionado, and blogs about two things he loves; you guessed it: brews and books. From his site: “At the tender age of 24, I have a degree in Political Science from the University of Maine and work as a bookseller and occasional ski industry representative in coastal Maine. When I’m not reading a book or enjoying a beer, you can usually find me roaming around practicing my photography, skiing, hiking or otherwise enjoying the coast and mountains of Maine.”
Erin Dow
Erin Dow is chef/owner of Eatswell Farm, a Maine-based catering firm. She is also the Expert Chef for the Guiding Stars Licensing Company and the Consulting Executive Chef for Professional Catering Services, a company that provides backstage production catering to the music industry.
Scott Josephson
Scott Josephson is a native New Yorker who grew up on Long Island and moved to the Boston suburbs in 2007. He has predominantly traveled by train, plane, and cruise ship to over 30 States, Canada, the Caribbean, Western Europe, and Israel. He is the proud owner of his first car — a 2010 Prius named Jet — and recently drove round-trip from Massachusetts to New York. When he’s not traveling, Scott works in product management for an educational software company.
Russ Roca & Laura Crawford
Some people are homebodies. Creating a close network of family and friends in a relatively small area keeps them grounded and safe. They have a local community to support them. This works for most people in life. But some people find that they need to do something more, something different. So when Laura Crawford, a jewelry maker, and Russ Roca, a photographer, decided to sell most of their belongings and fit the rest onto their bicycles, they had an idea that they would be pedaling indefinitely around the United States, in search of a life less ordinary.
