This weekend is what’s called the “International Fly-in,” where hundreds of sea planes will land on Moosehead Lake for a last hurrah before winter overtakes the region. This view of Moosehead is looking north from downtown Greenville, Maine. Already many pilots have been braving the pretty breezy conditions to land on the lake.

I remember visiting Moosehead Lake when I was younger – probably 12 years old. It was a beautiful trip… we stayed in a hotel right on the lake during early July. I really want to go back again. Not sure I appreciated it as much when I was young.
I admit, it was beautiful up there, though I didn’t get much time to spend in the woods. Soon, I’ll get back out there for a few days of fishing and hiking!
