I’m so excited about this announcement, I’ve been trying to hold it in for weeks! If you signed up for the email newsletter, you already know, but for the rest of you, here’s the awesome news! But since it’s Friday, I figured I’d give you something to do this weekend…

Hi Tec V-Lite Hornet HPiPart Time Vagabond and HiTec Shoe Giveaway!

The folks at Hi-Tec were nice enough to send me a pair to review, and over the next few weeks, I’ll be putting a pair of Hi-Tec V-Lite Hornet HPi trail running shoes through their paces. But @HiTecUSA told me something else: Go ahead and review these shoes, but we also want to send you a second pair so you can give them away to your readers.

SWEET! But I’m not just going to give these away to anyone. No, you’re going to have to work for these. Here’s what you need to do to win:

The Rules

  1. Create a 30-45 second video OR Leave a comment below this very entry telling us why you’re the travel and outdoors lover who should win the HiTec V-Lite Hornet HPi shoes.
  2. If you submit a video, Tweet a link to it with the following message: “I just entered to win shoes from @HiTecUSA & @PTVagabond #VagabondShoes” (Use a URL shortener like bit.ly and make sure to include the hashtag to qualify!)
  3. Contest Deadline is Friday, June 4, 2010 at 11:59PM.

The contest is open to residents of the United States and Canada. Winner will be chosen randomly from all qualifying entries and announced on Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Winning entry will be used on the Part Time Vagabond website.

Wish I had a video camera!! I have finally started running and all I am doing are the trails around our place. Gotta love the woods!

  2. Jason says:

This should generate some good video clips.

A great brand and a great contest.

While I didn’t shoot a video, I think this post shows how much I love the outdoors

While I’m not a runner (if you have a contest for a super-duper sports bra, i’d be all over that), I do love the outdoors. I just aired my tent out recently in hopes of being able to use it a few times this summer. There are so many state parks here in Florida. I’ve been camping at Ft. Pickens in Pensacola at least 6 times in the past 10 years. Having a little one has limited my amount of travel and camping, but she’s getting to the age where I think she’d really enjoy it. One of the places on my list to take her this summer is Leon Sinks. It’s on the Floridan Aquifer and it’s just a beautiful area. Small Summer goal: go for a hike at the Sinks and get some pictures to share! That’s something I want to do even without there being a contest involved. :)

Here’s a link to a blog post and pictures (not mine) about Leon Sinks. http://bit.ly/ckOxZv

My wife recently moved out with our daughter during a mid-life crisis she is having. :( I am here taking care of the family finances and redoing the house to woo her back, while she decides on what she wants. I have taken up hiking and backpacking again from my old boy scout days as my physical and mental escape, to do something for myself. I would love to own a pair of Hornets so I could run the trails too. :)

  6. Julie says:

I would love to surprise my other half with a new pair of trail running shoes. He doesn’t get to run or get outside as much as I know he would like to because of work, but when he does have time, he’s dedicated to doing something outdoors. He has never joined a gym because he’d rather get his exercise from trail running, hiking, or biking. He just went on a short camping trip last week and is already planning his next one. He’s slowly working his way to seeing if he would enjoy backpacking.

He has also been a true HiTec fan for many, many years. Whenever we visit Yosemite, we always have to stop at the HiTec store in Modesto, and he never fails to come out with a new pair of shoes. He wears them for work and play, and he even goes so as far as trying to get away with wearing them as “dress” shoes as long as they’re clean! (I roll my eyes at that, but I understand his love for HiTec.)

Here he is with a pair of HiTec hikers, relaxing after a hike in Red Rock Canyon: http://twitpic.com/1tgylb

Thank you for having this great giveaway!

Hey… thanks for providing a non-video option. My female model friend opted out of my silly “talking feet” mini-movie idea. It would have been a riot, trust me :)

Anyways, I would LOVE a pair of HiTec trail running shoes. I will be training later this year for a 60K trail race and those bad boys look like the perfect accessory for my heals, toes, and ankles. I’m a big supporter of the outdoors. Since I was a wee young lad in Cub/Boy Scouts I’ve always spent a lot of my time discovering new trails around the globe. I’ve been blessed to go on hiking trips to Nepal (to Everest Base Camp) and New Zealand (Milford Trek on South Island). A few years ago hiked Mt. Whitney (highest peak in continental US) in a day (16 hours straight hiking). My next big trip will be to climb Kilimanjaro (highest peak in Africa) in Aug 2011. It would be good test of these shoes to see if they can hold up until then, yes? Also, I’m a hell of a nice guy. Just ask my Mom, she’ll back me up. I also travel the world drinking beer! Check out http://www.beercycling.com. So, a nice pair if HiTec’s would certainly help Mr get in and out the door on those journeys too! Maybe one day I will start http://www.beertrailrunning.com and it will be because of your site and the awesome shoes I’d love to win! Cheers -Evan

Since I just bought a new bike I need a new pair of sneakers to wear while I am riding them. I also letterbox in the summer and a new pair of sneakers would be great out on the trails!

  9. Tilli says:

Why oh why should I win the shoes? Because I am a girl and a girl could always use a new pair of kicks. Or it could be that I am about to finish one great travel adventure and a new pair of hikers would be great as I travel the back roads and rocky coasts of my favorite state… Maine!
