Traveling Gracefully
// December 7th, 2009 // VIDEO
I find this video so very fascinating. I love airports. They are amazing little microcosms of human life where I can sit an watch the way people not only interact with each other, but how they deal with stress and the range of human emotion. The guy in this video, Jason Barger, wrote a book called Step Back from the Baggage Claim. In it, he details his seven day experiment in which he traveled to seven different airports and spent time talking with people, experiencing small moments in their lives.
Yeah, he was promoting his book too. But I like the idea that he’s trying to get across, despite his perceived ulterior motives. Check out the video at least, and try to have a good day. And next time you’re in an airport (train station, bus terminal, coffee shop, living room)… remember to travel gracefully.

Hey there! My name is Chris, and I am the Part Time Vagabond. Why part time? Well, while I'm based in the great city of Portland, Maine, where I live and work, I also love to travel. Unfortunately, I haven't yet figured out how to drop everything and travel full time. Meanwhile, I whittle away the hours creating videos, doing social media work, and playing outside. So welcome to Part Time Vagabond, the intersection of travel, outdoor life, and good craft beer.
