Now that the cooler temperatures of fall are making their presence known, it’s time to start planning a short fall trip. I have a few ideas of adventures I want to pursue, but I’m not sure which one to do. Being the indecisive tool that I am, I’m leaving it up to you, my dear and friendly reader. Bearing in mind a horrifying economy and a car that barely runs, I’m restricting my travels to northern New England this year. But hey, there’s a lot to do here! Let’s take a look at the options:
- Kayaking or canoeing island hop trip on the Maine coast or Maine lakes
- 4 day Backpacking trip in the White Mountains of New Hampshire
- Road trip up scenic Route 1 in Maine, from Kittery to Fort Kent
- Fall Foliage Bike Tour through…. (Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine?)
- Other suggestions?

I would have voted for the Rt 1 scenic drive, but you’d be so annoyed but the other drivers I think. I think we should just skip town and got to Montreal!
Heather, road trip to Montreal sounds awesome. But we’d have to take your car. Mine wouldn’t make it past Bangor.
I think the White Mountains are beautiful!! I would join you.. haha.. The Kancamagus Highway is gorgeous and has so many trails and water-ways to enjoy!!
